So I haven't managed to talk to him yet, but mostly because I haven't seen him around. I did, however, wave to him this weekend. Hey--it's a step in the right direction, right? Baby steps, baby....
It was a weird, yet eventful weekend. Leslie ended up having a BBQ Friday night--and when I first showed up it was her, M. (who she now dates), and his best friend T., who I had the marathon makeout session with two weeks ago. Um, awkward. More people showed up, and it turned out to be okay, after all. My friend C. and I went to hang out at M.'s apartment with him and T. We listened to records and talked nonstop. Then we met Leslie and her friend A. out.
Somehow, T. and I ended up getting tallboys and drinking on the 50-yard line of McCarren Park at 3 A.M. It was all very Virgin Suicides....
The next day was the rib-off on Dave and Josh's roof. I made ribs for the very first time. Here is the recipe from epicurious. I substituted Jack Daniels for the sherry and brown sugar for the white. I also added pineapple juice and some crushed red pepper, to give them a little more flava. I think out of 12 contestants I was about 4th place. I was tied for second on one judge's ballot, which I thought was super-cool.
In other news, I've been getting lots of cool records to add to my collection. Many of them cost just $2. Including Robert Palmer, Riptide If you think "Addicted to Love" is good, then you haven't heard his cover of "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On." I even replaced the hard-to-find one that I lost at the bar the other weekend. C. and I are DJing a party at his loft on August 12.
